Peter Petroff is Bulgarian-American inventor and scientist. He has assisted in the redevelopment of one of the earliest computerized pollution monitoring system for communications satellites. He is known to be the inventor of the world’s first digital watch and an early wireless heart monitor.

Stamen Grigorov is a Bulgarian microbiologist, known to be the inventor of anti-tuberculosis vaccine. Among his discoveries is the the Lactobacillus bulgaricus bacillus – the bacteria which helps the natural development of yogurt.

Ivan Nikolov Stranski was a Bulgarian physical chemist who is known to be the father of crystal growth research. After graduating from Sofia University, Stranski has discovered one of the major stages in crystallization. Years later he was invited by Walther Kossel to conduct a research and put his kinetic theory of crystal growth to later introduce the Kossel-Stranski model.

Georgi Nadzhakov is a Bulgarian physicist, known for his research of photoconducting properties of sulphur. He later published paper, naming the electret discovered by Mototaro Eguchi in 1919, thermoelectret and photoelectret – the electret discovered by him in 1937.
